BLESSING OF THE BACKPACKS IS AN ANNUAL EVENT AT BETHANY!
Each year when children, teachers, and parents are thing about heading back to school, Bethany is thinking about them! We invite them one and all to bring their backpacks, school supplies and books to church (this year it was on Sunday, August 27) for a special blessing to get the school year started right! Bethany Lutheran Church, on the corner on the corner of First and 'A' Streets, holds a Blessing of the Backpacks in worship annually on an August Sunday at the 10:15 a.m. Everyone is invited to join in the regular worship service. Each Sunday's service includes a special children's message, and Blessing of the Backpack Sunday invites everyone heading into the classroom to bring forward their backpacks and other school necessities to be blessed for a safe and successful year of learning. Prayers for students, teachers, and parents will also be included in the worship.
Bethany Lutheran Church is a Safe Haven congregation for children and families, and welcomes all. Worship services are held each Sunday at 10:15 a.m., and Sunday Church School for all ages will begin a new year each week at 9:00 a.m. Rally Day was September 17.
